Private William John Moore

 

The background of this man is not known at present.

William John Moore enlisted in the North Irish Horse at Belfast on 21 September 1918 (no regimental number issued). He was described as being 5' 5½" tall, with a fresh complexion, dark hair and grey eyes, and having a mole on his left buttock. He stated that he was 26 years old, was born in Shankill, Belfast, and that his worked as a carter.

Moore was reported to have deserted from Belfast the day after he enlisted. It is not known if he was subsequentially apprehended.
